In this week’s episode I sit down with Gail Hakala. Gail Hakala is a performer and is the head of the vocal discipline at Sheridan College. In our conversation today we discuss her early experiences training in voice and the things she learned during her time in school. We discuss some of her most positive experiences in the industry, including her nine seasons at the Shaw festival and her time in Phantom of the Opera, as well as how she got involved teaching at Sheridan and how she hopes to continue developing the vocal discipline. She also shares some of the advice she would give performers currently working in the industry and discusses where she sees theatre in Canada headed in the future.
